I really do miss the early 90’s. As far as rap music goes, that was when, in my opinion, when rap music was at its high, at least for the West Coast, and if you know me, you know that I love West Coast music. While the lyrics aren’t that great, and are often misogynistic and glorify violence, the music side of the songs is above anything else put out by any other coast then, and since. I recenlty started listening to The Very Best of Death Row and it made me wish beats were like they were then. This is one of the BEST compilations ever put together, just look at this track listing:
-
2pac – Against All Odds
2pac – California Love (Remix)
Snoop Doggy Dogg – Gin And Juice
Dr. Dre – Nuthin’ But A G Thang
2pac – Ambitionz Az A Ridah
Snoop Doggy Dogg – Who Am I (What’s My Name )
Tha Dogg Pound – Let’s Play House
Warren G – Regulate
Snoop Doggy Dogg – Ain’t No Fun (If The Homies Can’t Have None)
Tha Dogg Pound – New York, New York
Dr. Dre – Let Me Ride
Tha Dogg Pound – What Would You Do
Lady Of Rage – Afro Puffs
Petey Pablo And Kurupt – Off Tha Chain
How could you not like this album? These are some of the best tracks ever released by artists that were at the top of their game.
