Make 50 Cent Quit Rapping
50 Cent believes his new album will outsell Kanye West’s upcoming disc, and he’s betting his solo career on it. Both 50 Cent and West have albums due out Sept. 11. 50 Cent, who has sold better than West, has been riled by forecasts that sales of West’s “Graduation” could rival those for his “Curtis” CD.
“Let’s raise the stakes,” the 31-year-old rapper told hip-hop Web site SOHH.com in an interview posted Friday. “If Kanye West sells more records than 50 Cent on September 11, I’ll no longer write music. I’ll write music and work with my other artists, but I won’t put out any more solo albums.”
Ok, let’s be honest. Neither one are great rappers. They both have mediocre “flows.” Kanye West is still the better artist. It’s one thing to have a terrible flow and that’s all you do, but Kanye at least brings something else to the table. Actually, two things. He brings better lyrics (do we care who 50 has beef with this week or how many times he got shot anymore?) and better production. Yes, 50 is backed by Dre beats, but Kanye makes his own. 50 is all hype with no skill, plain and simple. So, I hope Kanye outsells him on September 11th. I’ll even buy a copy of his album just to do my part in trying to shut down what’s bad in rap music, and that’s 50 (and Game, and G Unit, and Young Jeezy, any rapper with Young or Lil in his name, well, pretty much all of urban radio… Let the underground shine!)
anybody who thinks 50, Game, and G unit are destroying hip hop then what are they going to say about dirty south music.? this guys are the few new comers of 21 century who can realy rap and try to keep hip hop alive. the music from dirty south is wack, its the one destroying hip hop no doubt about that and anybody who want to make criticism make them to dirty south artists end of story. on september 11 i think 50 will outsell kanye, because 50 is the realist, he gat skill and the brain of making good records. so as far as im concerned kanye is also talented but the sales will tell who is who?
What makes 50 good? His lyrics are terrible, he sounds like he’s got down syndrome, he doesn’t annunciate… at all. He’s all hype. If you want some real hip hop, listen to tonedeff, cunninlynguists, tech n9ne, binary star, common, k-os, etc.

Hold up before you start dissing the whole entire south. I will agree with you on one thing, the music being put out from the artist down here is really nothing close to “real” hip hop. But isnt hip hop an expression of who u are n where u came from. Personally I really wouldnt use any of the rappers from the south as an inspiration lyrically and on an mc status, but dont degrade them for doing something they love, that aint cool. Society today is fugged up so why u think half of the music being put out today is. All Im really saying is dont shut out the south completely, cause there are some underground artist that will blow you away if givin the chance to shine.
50’s a puppet rapper, with out dre’s beats what does he really have? nothing, as for the south, you can try n diss a whole coast east west, or even the south, everyone has their share of wack rappers n historic rappers, and current top dogs.
but u take the “best” from each side, 50 from the east, lil wayne from the south, and THE GAME from the west, and they dont come close to the rap forefathers like Nas, Pac, Outkast
