Sounds like a law firm, doesn’t it? Well, I assure you, it’s not. Instead, it is a great Jazz band that I recently stumbled upon. I first found out about them over at ropeadope and then two days later saw them as the House Band on the Carson Daly show (1. I don’t know why I was watching it. 2. I don’t know why a jazz band was the house band on said show). Anyway, I suggest you listen to some of their music. Check them out over at MMW.net.

It appears that they will be in St. Louis at Mississippi Nights on November 11th. I might have to make it home for that, depening on whether or not I kill myself and everyone around me based on the results of Tuesday’s election.

So, the people who are graduating in May and have a 3.25 GPA were chosen to test out the new Online Registration system yesterday. A friend in the History department registered 5 minutes after the starting time, and the student teaching class (only one available mind you) had 13 seats left (out of a possible 25). So, when real registration starts on Monday, that number could be significantly lower. How is that possible? What are they going to do, tell people that they can’t take their very last class of their college career because there isn’t enough room? Doesn’t make sense to me, especially since you don’t actually go to this class, because you are student teaching. Good thing I’m not supposed to do mine until next fall. I’ve got enough to worry about right now anyway. School is killing me.

Working in the lab right now (cheek for all you on campus people) is really boring. Not only is it boring, but the lab has been full of weirdos all day. Did the lunar eclipse turn people into complete psychos last night? I’m beginning to think so.

After winning 105 games in the regular season, the Cardinals couldn’t pull one off in the World Series. Not one. I should be saying “At least they made it to the Series!” But, I’m not. If they would have won just one game, I would be saying it, but they didn’t. Oh well, there’s always next season, right? This is going to be the longest winter in St. Louis memory.

Yes, that’s right, the Cardinals are going to the World Series. I watched the game in Springfield, Missouri and suddenly, while I was watching it, everyone became your friend. at leat 150 other drunken fans at the bar i was at were cheering on the Cardinals. It was crazy when the Cardinals took the lead, and even crazier when there were only three outs left. It was a night I will never forget.

After the game, we headed down to the Outland to see The Ills play. They are a band from Norman, OK. They also happen to be the BEST band i have ever seen. They were rock/jazz (more jazz than rock). They even had one song with some hip hop in it. They are all talented, and the drummer was wicked (boston talk for my cousin DJ) good. It was a great show.

Time to sleep so i can be recouped and get ready for the world series on Sat.

I love Okayplayer’s Now Hear This section. I have never been disappointed by their picks of great underground hip-hop. Their newest pick could quite possibly become my new favorite hip hop album. Haiku D’Etat is a blend of jazzy, poetic, hip hop. Something that has been missing for a while. Their name translates into A Poetry Takeover. I can’t wait for the album to drop so I can check out the entire cd. Check them out and listen to some tracks here: Haiku D’Etat.
