Dear Abby,
My husband has a long record of money problems. He runs up huge credit card bills. At the end of the month, if I try to pay them off, he shouts at me, saying I am stealing his money. He says pay the minimum and let our kids worry about the rest, but already we can hardly keep up with the interest.

Also, he has been so arrogant and abusive toward our neighbors that most of them no longer speak to us. The few that do are an odd bunch, to whom he has been giving a lot of expensive gifts, running up our bills even more.

Also, he has gotten religious in a big way, although I don’t quite understand it. One week he hangs out with Catholics and the next with people who say the Pope is the Anti-Christ.

And now he has been going to the gym an awful lot and is into wearing uniforms and cowboy outfits, and I hate to think what that means.

Finally, the last straw. He’s demanding that before anyone can be in the same room with him, they must sign a loyalty oath. It’s just so horribly creepy! Can you help?

Signed, Lost in DC

DEAR LOST: Stop whining, Laura. You can divorce the jerk any time you want. The rest of us are stuck with him for four more years!

Thanks to Chris Miller for posting this.

Found this great article on a message board, so I thought I would post it. It really does get the point across about the direction hip hop has gone and where it is going. A good read, even if you aren’t that much into hip hop.

It’s all Hip Hop’s fault…

The week of November 14, 2004 through the 21st was a bad week for us black folks. First at the Vibe Awards a bunch of fools jump up and start throwing down for reasons unknown. In the aftermath one man is stabbed and the person fingered for the stabbing is none other than Young Buck. A few days earlier the AMA’s went off with out a hitch. No word of Elton John pimp slapping Billy Joel while the members of Coldplay pounced on Good Charlotte. But at the Vibe awards it was different. There’s one black eye. Read more

Looks like it will be fairly easy to do my student teaching in St. Louis. This is a good thing. Hopefully I will be able to do it at Fort Zumwalt and Francis Howell. If not, I would prefer one of those and somewhere like Troy or Wentzville.

New look, thanks to the creaters of Manji and the MidEvil themes. This is very elegant. I will be making some changes to suit me more in the future, but I thought I’d get this up now.

Weekend was great. Went to Ebbet’s Field on Saturday Night. Never been there before. It’s a pretty cool place.

I’ve decided what i’m going to write about for my Business History class. We have to pick a company and write 14-20 pages on it. I was going to do the Lemp Brewery in St. Louis. It was America’s First Lager Beer. With not a lot of information about the business, I decided to switch to Def Jam Records. I’ve already read Russell Simmon’s Book Life and Def and there is also some company history in both Hip Hop America and The Vibe History of Hip Hop. Not to mention, I have another book on the way, and there are always gov’t records and even the internet for some info. Should be a pretty nice paper.
