Crash

I saw Crash tonight. This was such a good movie. Every actor in the movie gave great performances (except for Brendan Fraser whose acting is the same in this movie as every movie he’s been in, crappy). I was surprised to find Ludacris to deliver a great performance. I usually don’t like rappers in movies, except for the few exceptions of Tupac Shakur in just about every role he’s been in, Mos Def in Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, and Ice Cube in Higher Learning, but Ludacris gave a great performance that was on par with everyone else in the movie. Don Cheadle, as always, acted wonderfully. As did Sandra Bullock, Thandie Newton, and the rest of the cast.

This movie is beyond explanation as far as story and plot. It’s something that you have to see. What was funny, as Matt, Anna, and I were standing in line to buy tickets, the people at the ticket window asked what it was about and we couldn’t tell them. They said that nobody that was seeing that movie could explain what it was about, which I think could hurt its box office numbers. Its a movie that seems unmarketable.

All you have to know, is one crash links a bunch of people in LA together and goes through the lives of said people up until the moment of the crash. It is wonderfully written, and deals with the racism each one of these people goes through in their lives. You love some of the characters, you hate some of them. There really is nothing I can say besides see this movie. It is probably going to be one of the best of the year.

Crash was amazing. I reviewed it at http://www.xanga.com/justlikeinamovie if you haven’t read my review already. I loved the acting and the story, and it definitely had some shocking scenes.

Have you seen Magnolia? If not, it is very similar to Crash. It is actually my favorite film of all time, but it is very unique and…different. Robert Altman also directed a film called Short Cuts which is said to be similar to Magnolia but I have not seen it.
