Let’s Go Cardinals, Let’s Go!

Cardinals swept the Padres in the first round of the playoffs last night. It was a nail biter until the very end, as it has been with the Cardinals all season long it seems. I cannot wait for Wednesday. My dad and I have tickets to the game at Busch Stadium Wednesday night. This will be the first game I have been to all season. I usually try to go to a few games, but I did not have time this summer. There is no better time to go than during the playoffs. I’m really looking forward to it. Let’s hope they get to the World Series again, and this time win. I also hope the Yankees lose tonight and get eliminated from further post season play.

Here’s to you, Mr. Postseason Cardinals Baseball Rooter.

    Mr. Postseason Cardinals Baseball Rooter!

You haven’t been to a game all year. In fact, you haven’t been to a game in 15 years, but when your name got picked in the office pool, you gobbled up those ducats like they were frozen cheesecake samples at Sam’s Club.

Step up to the dish, now!

To you, 6-4-3 is an area code, Ol’ Abner is an Al Capp character, and a ball in the Gap is a good time at a department store.

    Visa’s battin’ cleanup!

You demonstrate your baseball pedigree with your layers of red. Your shirt is red. Your hair is red. Your favorite Cardinal is Red. Your giant foam Redbird hat is red, obscuring the view of everyone seated around you and making them see red.

And after paying for parking and a round of beers, your checkbook is most definitely in the red.

    Better red than dead!

So crack open a Bud Light and take me out to the ballgame, oh Prince of the Postseason. As they say in the commercials, you ‘Live for this,’ you just don’t pay real close attention to it.

    Mr. Postseason Cardinals Baseball Roooooterrrr!

Of course you are not this fan, but you made me think of him.

P.S. Try doing a blockquote in your live-comment preview… You can’t read it.
