I’ve had a MySpace page for a long time now. I’ve had it before MySpace became the huge thing it is now. I’m not quite sure why I have it. I never use it. The only people I really have friended on there are rappers (that have friended me via various websites like midwestinvasion.com and midwestmixtapes.com and other connections). I don’t message people. I don’t even go to an artist’s website if it is just a redirect to their MySpace. I detest MySpace. It’s ugly, it’s bloated and it doesn’t work half the time. It’s everything that’s wrong with the internet in one place. The worst thing lately is all the spam friend requests. I get at least two per day. Sure, I can probably prevent a few of these by setting my profile to private, but the point is, I shouldn’t have to. MySpace should be smart enough to prevent the spammers from sending out friend requests. Oh well. I’m deleting my MySpace page and I won’t look back. (and if you absolutely need to belong to social networking sites, try out Virb. It’s MySpace done right.)

I’ve listed some domains on the Domain Name Aftermarket website. I’m selling:

  1. Workingfora.com
  2. Politicaljackass.com
  3. Toppoliticalblogs.com
  4. Myblogisbetterthanyours.com
  5. Midwestmixtapes.com
  6. Blogitback.com

Drop me a line using the contact form if you are interested in any of these domains. Thanks :)

For reasons I won’t discuss here I am searching for a new host. I don’t need crazy amount of space and/or bandwidth that many budget hosts oversell. I would like around 10gb space and 25-50 gb of bandwidth. I want a reliable host with CPanel (or Plesk) installed and the ability to host more than one domain (would like to host 5, at most). If anyone can recommend a reliable host that meets my needs, drop me a line.

I installed Movable Type 4 on another site of mine and imported all the WordPress posts from this blog. I’m kind of tired of WordPress and the direction it’s going (It seems WordPress (as in .org) has went from being what’s best for the community to what’s best for the users of WordPress.com, the for profit version, which hey, you’re a business, that’s your job to make money, but don’t hide behind a facade of benevolence when you make decisions thinking about your profit margin instead of the community). I don’t know if MT will be any different, especially since it just became open source, but I think MT could be a suitable replacement. There’s going to be a large learning curve and I’ll lose all Google juice for a while, but I’m not a business that’s trying to make tons of money off my website. I do it for fun. I guess it all depends on whether MT will be fun to learn or frustrating. There is always Habari, but they have a long way to go before I can even consider using them.

So for the past couple weeks I’ve been searching for a new theme. You might have stopped by while I was testing some out. I had maybe 3 different themes up over the past few weeks but kept going back to the previous because I wasn’t feeling any of them, even after some modifications. This one I do like and might keep up for a bit. I have to see it on my website for a few days in order to determine if I like it. We’ll see. Any thoughts?
