It seems to me, and this is based on various people I know, blogs I read, etc, that the same people who supported Ralph Nader in 2000 are the same people that are supporting Ron Paul this election. The funny thing is, the platforms of both men are not that similar at all. So what makes these people jump beliefs. Are they really just sheep? Morydd in #habari made a good point. The supporters are “rebels” fighting the “establishment.” Doesn’t matter if the candidates have different beliefs than the supporters. They just want to be cool and vote for the guy who is the most different. They don’t have to actually believe what the candidate is saying. Morydd also said that “if you back a candidate who has extreme views, and is unelectable, you guarantee yourself at least 4 years of holier-than-thou ‘If my candidate had won, this would all be different.'” Again, a very good point, because that is the exact type of attitude established by any of the Ron Paul supporters you talk to. Interesting.

This is getting sad. More and more people are being brainwashed into the Cult of Scientology. I can handle Tom Cruise going completely nuts. I’ve never been a Tom Cruise fan. Sure, Vanilla Sky was a great movie, and it’s true I can’t watch it anymore without thinking what a nut job he is, but I’d never say he’s a great actor. For those that know me, they know that I think all religion is a sham. Well, Scientology is the biggest sham of them all. When you read about their beliefs and scandal behind the cult, you’ll understand why.

Rumor has it another major actor is pushing Scientology now. None other than Will Smith has been linked to the religion lately. I’ve always thought Will Smith was fairly smart (besides in his decision to do Wild Wild West). He’s a great actor, in roles such as in The Legend of Bagger Vance and The Pursuit of Happyness and the action films that made him a bona fide star, like Bad Boys and Men in Black. Sadly, if this movie is true, I’ll never be able to see him or his movies the same way again. Anyone who believes in their beliefs must be completely insane. Of course, I also think that all organized religions dupe people. Scientology is just the craziest of them all.

EDIT: Oh, and if you want the beliefs in a nutshell, South Park actually did a great rundown of what they believe. They aren’t dramatizing the beliefs at all. It is what they actually believe.

Thankfully I’ve never used Network Solutions. Before I started doing a lot of website work I just had one domain, this one. I registered it with Namezero way back in high school, I think. After becoming more familiar with the internet, I moved it to GoDaddy. I knew, even way back then, to stay away from Network Solutions. The company I worked for in college was the sister company of a Web Hosting and CoLo facility. They always had problems with customers who registered domains via Network Solutions and NetSol support, to be honest, sucked. Well, recently another piece of information has hit the net on what a crappy company Network Solutions really is. They will steal your domain name ideas. Check out this post where the author even runs tests to confirm the rumor that was going around.

The short of it is, you have a great domain name idea. You check it on Network Solutions’ website to see if it’s available. Instead of buying it right then and there, you decide to think it over a bit. Well, if you do a WHOIS on the domain or visit it, you can see that it has been registered by NetSol and not only that, but they will sell it to you for a lot more than you should have to pay for a domain. Bottom line is, stay away from these scammers.

More and more I find myself browsing the net using Safari. I used to loathe Safari, and on Windows I still do, but it’s starting to grow on me a bit on the MacBook. On several Windows systems I found it to be much slower than Firefox, despite Apple’s claims. In fact, Opera and Firefox were faster at launching and loading websites. The only major browser it did beat in my experiences was the horror that is known as IE7. It does run faster than Firefox on the MacBook. The things I hated about Safari before still exist; the lack of an address drop-down until you type, the lack of extension support, etc. I still use Firefox for 99% of my web browsing, but I am slowly moving to Safari for more and more casual browsing (I’m writing this in Safari now). If I am doing web work or more heavy-duty browsing, Firefox is still my number one choice, and probably will be until Apple decides to add extension support. There are a few I can’t live without.

EDIT: This is not a proxy server! The search field on this site will not take you to myspace, facebook, bebo, or any other site that your work or school has blocked.

Hello my Kproxy visitors. I notice you visit once every few weeks. I’m pretty sure I know who you are. I don’t know what to say, other than there’s a note waiting for you.
