SMSU played Creighton University last night. In the past, Creighton has always dominated the Bears. A lot has changed since last year though. Many of Creighton’s best players of years’ past graduated. I wasn’t expecting an SMS win, but that is what was delivered. This was the first Bears basketball game I attended this year, and I was surprised at how many of our guys graduated last year as well. The Bears dominated all of first half, playing excellent defense. The second half was typical Bears basketball. They let their lead slip and played some bad defense. They managed to hold onto the lead though and not even their terrible free throw shooting percentage and Creighton’s excellent ability at the 3-point shot could stop the Bears.

The final score was 80-73. Good job Bears.

First off, I am a nonbeliever in the article of clothing called the scarf. In my opion, it serves no function. Does your neck really get so cold that you can’t bear to be outside without it? What really bugs be about them is when I see guys wearing them. Now most are trying to be the trendy Gap guy wearing the scarf, a lot of the times without a coat. Wear a coat and you won’t need the scarf.

Today in my French Revolution class, a girl was wearing a scarf. While I do think this a cute item on girls, it still serves no purpose. Especially since this girl was already wearing a turtleneck. Isn’t that a bit of overkill?

In conclusion, scarves are useless. They are cute on girls, but chances are, I’d think you are cute without them. Please stop wearing them, especially guys.

That is all.

With the influx of new bloggers, I have decided to come up with some Blogging Etiquette and Rules. Please follow these if at all possible.

  • If you have a personal blog, please do not place Google Ads on your blog. Read my thoughts on that here: Google Ads
  • Please limit your posts. Meaning, if you have a personal blog, please don’t post 10 times a day. Wait until you have something to say to say it. (I broke my personal 1 post a day rule today, and have done so in the past quite a few times, I’m sorry)
  • Never launch a personal attack on someone.
  • Don’t ask someone to link your blog. If they find what you have to say important enough to direct users from their site onto yours, then feel honored.
  • If something you posted is not your original work, credit the original
  • If you are not going to post on your blog, don’t have a blog.
  • That’s all I can think of now, I’m sure I will be adding to this list in the future. Please fellow bloggers, follow these rules for the good of the blogging community.

    Dear Abby,
My husband has a long record of money problems. He runs up huge credit card bills. At the end of the month, if I try to pay them off, he shouts at me, saying I am stealing his money. He says pay the minimum and let our kids worry about the rest, but already we can hardly keep up with the interest.

Also, he has been so arrogant and abusive toward our neighbors that most of them no longer speak to us. The few that do are an odd bunch, to whom he has been giving a lot of expensive gifts, running up our bills even more.

Also, he has gotten religious in a big way, although I don’t quite understand it. One week he hangs out with Catholics and the next with people who say the Pope is the Anti-Christ.

And now he has been going to the gym an awful lot and is into wearing uniforms and cowboy outfits, and I hate to think what that means.

Finally, the last straw. He’s demanding that before anyone can be in the same room with him, they must sign a loyalty oath. It’s just so horribly creepy! Can you help?

    Signed, Lost in DC

DEAR LOST: Stop whining, Laura. You can divorce the jerk any time you want. The rest of us are stuck with him for four more years!

Thanks to Chris Miller for posting this.

Found this great article on a message board, so I thought I would post it. It really does get the point across about the direction hip hop has gone and where it is going. A good read, even if you aren’t that much into hip hop.

    It’s all Hip Hop’s fault…

The week of November 14, 2004 through the 21st was a bad week for us black folks. First at the Vibe Awards a bunch of fools jump up and start throwing down for reasons unknown. In the aftermath one man is stabbed and the person fingered for the stabbing is none other than Young Buck. A few days earlier the AMA’s went off with out a hitch. No word of Elton John pimp slapping Billy Joel while the members of Coldplay pounced on Good Charlotte. But at the Vibe awards it was different. There’s one black eye.
