So, I worked my last few hours in the Computer Labs today. It was sad to leave some good friends that I have made and might not ever see again. I will try my best to keep in touch with people like Adam, Caleb, and Cara. I have no doubt that I will see Anna, being that she is going to marry my good friend Matt. It was sad walking out of that lab for the last time. I will miss these guys. Keep in touch everyone, you really don’t know how much I enjoyed your company this year. Good luck in your futures. You know my website, and I know yours. Caleb and Cara, train the lab newbs well.

So, I donated some money to one.org and received (will receive) a box of wristbands which have become the new fad for charities and non-profits. I should have 5 to give away. If anyone wants one, I can mail you one or give you one in person. Just leave a comment saying you want one and I’ll get your info. You don’t need to donate money to get one. What you do need to complete though, is their declaration. Send me a screenshot, or link me to a screenshot of the completed form and you shall receive one. If demand is high, I shall donate more money and get some more wristbands, but what would be even better, is if you donated and got your own box of them to give out.

Check out the powerful video that has been airing on all the major networks here: ONE.org Video.

I saw Crash tonight. This was such a good movie. Every actor in the movie gave great performances (except for Brendan Fraser whose acting is the same in this movie as every movie he’s been in, crappy). I was surprised to find Ludacris to deliver a great performance. I usually don’t like rappers in movies, except for the few exceptions of Tupac Shakur in just about every role he’s been in, Mos Def in Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, and Ice Cube in Higher Learning, but Ludacris gave a great performance that was on par with everyone else in the movie. Don Cheadle, as always, acted wonderfully. As did Sandra Bullock, Thandie Newton, and the rest of the cast.

This movie is beyond explanation as far as story and plot. It’s something that you have to see. What was funny, as Matt, Anna, and I were standing in line to buy tickets, the people at the ticket window asked what it was about and we couldn’t tell them. They said that nobody that was seeing that movie could explain what it was about, which I think could hurt its box office numbers. Its a movie that seems unmarketable.

All you have to know, is one crash links a bunch of people in LA together and goes through the lives of said people up until the moment of the crash. It is wonderfully written, and deals with the racism each one of these people goes through in their lives. You love some of the characters, you hate some of them. There really is nothing I can say besides see this movie. It is probably going to be one of the best of the year.

As you can see, I changed the look of the site. The little guy in the header is Squijee. He’s from QN5 and I thought he would work well in the header, plus he’s cool.

I really am going to miss college and all my friends. When I go back to St. Louis for good, very few of my friends will be there. Many are moving away or will still be in school at their respective universities. I will really miss these people. On the other hand, I can’t wait to go home and see my nephew. I can’t wait to take him to a Cardinals game with the rest of my family, which WILL happen this summer, no matter how hectic everyone’s schedules will be. Life is too short to put things off.

I’ve also started using a couple new plugins, which are conveniently listed in my sidebar. One is the Friend Finder plugin. This is sweet, you define a name and the respective website, and when said name is in a post, it will automatically link their name to their website. The other plugin in is a live comment preview plugin, so you can see what your comment will look like as you type it. To download these plugins, just click the plugin name in the sidebar.

I recieved an A on my hip hop paper, which you can read on my Scholarly Works page (link at top). I was excited to recieve an A because the professor grades really tough (but really fair). I worked hard on the paper, and I think it paid off. One day, if I get my PhD in history, I may turn it into a book. Who knows……

Anyway, time to go to sleep and get ready for the last class of my Bachelors degree. Finals are next week, hopefully I will do well. It’s really scary to be this close to graduation.

I came into the lab and Anna and Caleb were updating their blogs, so I decided to update mine. Nothing is really going on right now. I’m almost done with classes, completely done with schoolwork. Now all I have left to do are my finals. Anna had a nice post about what she will miss from college. I’m going to copy her idea and now tell you what I will miss.

  • People at work, including AnnaBanana and CaraBear
  • My roomate for 3 years, Chuckles
  • History classes
  • Drinking
  • Poppycocks
  • Being able to skip an entire day without repercussions
  • As much as I hate it, Springfield, and more specifically, being able to walk anywhere
  • Friends that have graduated, or will be graduating, that I will no longer see
  • Things I will not miss

  • Certain people (most of you know who i’m talking about)
  • HST 551
  • HST 418 busy work (lesson plans, etc)
  • Filling the printers at work
  • That’s all I can think of so far. Good luck on finals everyone. Good luck in life.
