Time magazine came out with a list of the Top 100 Novels. There are some really good books on there, but there are a few that I think should be on the list and are not. So now, I give you my list. No, I will not list 100 novels, but just some of my favorite.
The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald
Fight Club by Chuck Palahniuk
Diary by Chuck Palahniuk
Timeline by Michael Crichton
To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee
Animal Farm by George Orwell
The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown
Forrest Gump by Winston Groom
Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck
The Hobbit by J. R. R. Tolkien
Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe
Shoeless Joe by W.P. Kinsella
Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury
Those are the ones I could come up with off the top of my head. I’m sure there are many, many more that I have read and forgot on this list.
Congrats Chris Carpenter
Congrats goes to Cardinals Ace Chris Carpenter. It was announced today that Carpenter won the NL Cy Young Award. He is the first Cardinal to do so since Bob Gibson. Carpenter had a great season with a 21-5 record. He was the first Cardinal to win 20 games since Matt Morris in 2001. With 213 strikeouts, he was the first Cardinal since Jose DeLeon in 1989 to strike out more than 200 batters. Read the story from StL Today.
Chile Protest Pics and Banksy
When I moved from pieceofshep.com to mikeschepker.com for my blog, there were two galleries that I never brought over. One is Chile protest pictures from 11/2004 and the other was Banksy graffiti pics. They are now both in the gallery section.
Go Flock Yourself
This has to be one of the funniest sites on the intarwebs. Not only that, but it totally bashes everything Web 2.0.

The Boondocks Finally on TV
The Boondocks, the genius comic strip created by Aaron McGruder is finally making its way to the small screen. After being delayed several times (moving networks, and the usual delays that come with a animated program) the cartoon starring Regina King and John Witherspoon will make its debut this Sunday night during the Adult Swim block on the Cartoon Network. The show focuses on two black children and their grandfather living in white suburbia. The Boondocks has been one of my favorite comic strips for years and I’m excited about what kind of controversy this show can stir up. This cartoon won’t be for everyone though. Those that are offended by racial issues, Bush bashing, and common sense need not watch. The offical site (which is still under construction) can be found at: Boondocks.net.
