For a day I had no internet service and our cable TV was very fuzzy. After talking to three different people, all who take the word “service” our of customer service, the best answer I could get was they could call us within the next 48 hours to SET UP AN APPOINTMENT to check what the problem was. Why am I paying for a service, and it is a service, in which I get nothing in return. We all had papers and speeches to write so having no internet was not a good thing. We explained to Mediacom that we are college students that are working on school assignments and we needed the net back ASAP and their response is, “maybe you shouldn’t rely on the service if it is that important.” Oh really, I shouldn’t rely on a service that I pay for, that is marketed as being reliable? Then they told us to maybe have a backup service or change services. Well, I didn’t know it was your job as a Mediacom employee to tell customers that your service is crappy and unreliable and tell them to find other services.
If we didn’t only live here for 1 more paying month, we would switch. I will NEVER use Mediacom’s crappy “service” again, and I urge everyone else not to either. Sattelite is becoming a better value, and DSL via SBC is just as good, if not better, than Mediacom.

Feel Like Crap
After not being sick for a long time, it appears that I have caught a cold. It sucks. Runny nose, sneezing, constantly tired. I think I got it when I was outside at the lake on Saturday morning trying to fish. It was way too cold to be outside doing that. Oh well, nothing I can do about that now. Guess I will have to drink some orange juice and hope this passes quickly.
Only a Few More Days
This weekend was fun. I went to the lake and spent time with all my family on my mom’s side. I had a great time, I didn’t want it to end. Sadly, it did, and now I have to study for a hard test that I have on Wednesday. I NEED a B on this test. Then at 5:00 on Wednesday, it’s off to StL for Spring Break! Though it will not be much of a break for me, I have to write 2 long research papers.

Teaching
Today I taught High School. I think it went fairly well. I wasn’t as nervous as I thought I would be. Don Smith, the supervisor from SMS, came and observed me and provided some feedback that I’m sure will be helpful to me. I felt sorry for the students because they were writing the whole hour, but I wanted to keep them busy because I knew that Don would be there and I didn’t want them getting out of hand. The class was unbelievably well behaved. I was pleasantly surprised. Usually they are monsters, but they were all at their best behavior today. I’m glad it went as well as it did.
Some Updates
There is a new look, for now. You all know how often I change the look, and with WP 1.5, it’s a lot easier to do so.
I also added the “Listening to” section in the sidebar via a plugin I saw at Gregory Bowers’ excellent site.
I will also be using the WP-People plug in as soon as I add people to my database. What it does is when a person’s name is put in a post, it links their name to a bio about the person. So if there is a person I talk about a lot on the blog, you can click their name and a short bio and other info will pop-up. Pretty cool stuff.
EDIT: I changed my Listening to plugin, after seeing a better, newer version on another site. Check it out here: WP-Scrobbler
